Eco-Tour Guide
Guide tourists and students around Pelee Island, providing human and natural history. Guide will be trained in identifying basic plants, trees, animals, reptiles, etc. Collecting tour fees, co-ordinating recreation activities, describing points of interest, resolving itinerary and other problems, develop and deliver commentaries, attend to customers’ special needs. Need driver’s license. Good time management skills. Must be a people person.
Tour Types: Bike Tours, Walking Tours, Motor Tours, Step-on-Tour Guide Service, also Environmental Field Trips for students. Some tours will be biking up to 30km around the island (3-4 hours), other tours will be driving around the island. The tours are at a casual pace and the island is flat.
Administrative Duties: When tours are not busy, student will be updating tourism database, answering emails, researching marketing and advertising ideas. Dropping off flyers and event posters at different island businesses. All related travel and tourism business administrative tasks.
$10.50/hour + commission & tips
30 hours/week approx.
Training Dates: May 14-16, 2012
Requirements:
F license
CPR/First Aid Training
Outdoor experience an asset
Enthusiastic attitude a must!
